The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is preparing to release another healthy sea turtle named Valentina back into the ocean tomorrow afternoon.

Valentina is a sub-adult loggerhead sea turtle that was found in the St. Lucie Power Plant intake canal in Jenson Beach on February 14th, 2019. When the sea turtle arrived at the center, the turtle’s blood work showed hypoglycemia and anemia, Valentina was also under weight, lethargic and in poor health. Valentina was also missing its left front flipper. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center monitored the turtle with routine blood work, nutrition, iron, and antibiotics.

Tomorrow, May 7th, Valentina will be released back into the ocean at 2 pm with pre-release procedures beginning at 1:30 pm. The release…

The Florida State Park is located in Martin County between Tequesta and Hobe Sound just 5 miles north of Jupiter. The park features a variety of natural habitats, river swamps, wildlife, 16 natural communities, hiking and biking trails, water activities, guided tours, food courts, and mangroves. Jonathan Dickinson State Park has the Loxahatchee River, Florida’s first federally designated scenic and wild river runs through the middle of the park. In 2013, the state park won the TripAdvisior’s Certificate of Excellence.

The Pier in Juno Beach is a popular attraction in Palm Beach County for locals and tourist for photos, fishing and a great view.

Beginning on Saturday, May 11th you can purchase an Unlimited Summer Pass to 4 of South Florida’s most popular attractions.

New to 2019, the Palm Beach Zoo has announced their Big Cat 5K Race that is taking place on Saturday, May 4th. The Race and the proceeds support the Palm Beach Zoo’s partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society to protect the animals in the wild.

The race is Saturday, May 4th at the Palm Beach Zoo in West Palm Beach. This run is a chip-timed run and your running bib will have an electronic chip that starts its timer once you pass the starting line. Walkers are allowed to join in on the fun and are asked to stay behind the runners at the starting line to allow for a runner pathway. Runners and walkers who registered before April 1st will have their names on their bibs.

Join the River Center to Celebrate Earth Day and participate in the Great American Clean Up this Saturday, April 27th. Every month the Friends of Jupiter Beach have been organizing beach clean ups on the first Saturday of every month since 1994 and this month the cleanups are focused on our public areas.

This Saturday the Clean Up is part of the Great American Cleanup. The cleanup is a few hours long and the clean up includes a massive removal of litter and illegal dumping in our public areas, roadways, beaches, parks, neighborhoods and schools. The cleanups demonstrate our responsibility to make an effort to make Palm Beach County beautiful and clean.

Several times a year, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts their Paint N Drink parties. The Paint with a Purpose events benefit the ocean conservation and sea turtle research and rehabilitation center.

Paint N Drink is a mobile painting party planner that aims to bring fun and entertainment to everyone, no artistic experience is required to participate.

All are welcomed to attend and the class costs $25 dollars plus tax, per person. The cost of the class covers all of the supplies needed and the instructions of what will be painted. On Friday, the work of art will be creating painted wine glasses or draft glasses. The artwork to be painted is a sunset piece, and feel free to create your own sunset design on the glass.

This Saturday is the last Green Market in downtown West Palm Beach until the fall. Since October, the waterfront of West Palm Beach hosted their weekly Green Market every Saturday for the past 24 years.

The Green Market has been the ideal place to gather fresh foods and local goods from more than 90 vendors and this Saturday, April 20th is the last Green Market until October 6th.
