The popular French baker, Loic Autret, and his wife Pauline, just opened “Loic” in downtown West Palm Beach.

The bakery/bar/café is super stylish with 22-foot ceilings, smoked mirrors, floor-ceiling windows, and marble-topped high tops. Their whole menu- sandwiches, salads, artisanal breads, cheese platters, croissants, and tarts- is homemade from scratch.

Loic is a chef known for his pastries and his story. After serving in the French military as a paratrooper and minesweeping in Iraq and Cambodia, he decided to take up baking after getting injured. He learned the trade from working at different high-end restaurants around Palm Beach and Miami. He is now very popular around town, selling his confections at the West Palm Greenmarket.

Steve Solomon will be performing at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach tonight. He's back with an updated and even more hysterical version of "My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish, and I'm in Therapy."

The three-time award winning comedy show is one of the longest running one-man comedy shows in Broadway history. With his various voices, dialects, and sound effects, Steve Solomon will have you laughing the whole evening. The West Palm Brewery & Wine Vault opens today in downtown West Palm Beach at 4 p.m. It has 6 fermentation tanks, a Neapolitan pizza bar, and a Napa-style wine bar. 

The upscale pub is brand new yet has a vintage feel with its dim lighting and modern industrial interior. The main bar has high top tables and seating along a large stainless steel-topped bar, there's a marble-topped bar at the wine vault component of the pub, and another bar around the wood burning pizza oven that reaches 1,200 degrees and can bake an individual pizza pie in under 2 minutes.

The brewery will now brew for distribution, unlike many other companies in the area, and only sell beer on the premises. The master brewer says this will allow more room for experiments…

The Sunset Social Farmers Market will be taking place every Thursday evening this month at City Place in West Palm Beach and include musical performances. This Thursday, enjoy music presentations from local Palm Beach County students. 

This is more than your average market. The Sunset Social is a gathering of the finest foods, arts, plants, and more. World renowned, British artist, Gordon Cheung has his newest exhibition on display at the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens in West Palm Beach. “Gordon Cheung: New Order Vanitas” is the artist’s most recent curation of inspired floral master pieces which in total he calls “Breaking Tulips.” 

Cheung drew his inspiration from some of the most prized art pieces in the world, 17th Century Dutch and Flemish paintings. Vanitas are still life paintings from the Dutch Golden Age. 

This body of work Cheung has created is called “New Order” which pays homage to “the financial crisis of 2008 and its precursor in western economic history, the “tulip mania” which wiped out many fortunes in 1637. Cheung graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2001 and he exhibits…

Beginning tomorrow, December 8th, is the second Biennial “Artists of Art Salon” Exhibition at Montgomery Hall Gallery at the Armory Art Center. The exhibit will feature an incredible array contemporary works of art. Artists of different mediums and styles from all over Southern Florida will have their works on display. 

The “Artists of Art Salon” Exhibition has been known to display the best and most “influential” artists from Palm Beach to Miami.  This year, there will be 24 artists from our area displaying their contemporary pieces.
