The Town of Jupiter and the Village of Tequesta are nestled between Palm Beach Gardens and Stuart. North Palm Beach resident Clancy Waugh shot an 8-under par 64 on Monday at Willoughby Golf Club in Stuart to earn Medalist honors and advance out of the Local U.S. Open Qualifier.

The Benjamin High School grad and current Wake Forest golfer earned himself a trip to the June 8th 36 hole Sectional Qualifier at the Bear's Club in Jupiter as the low medalist.

For Waugh, it's a little bit of redemption after a less than stellar sophomore season with the Demon Deacons. After being named Freshman Athlete of the Year and becoming only the 11th Wake Forrest golfer in win a tournament last year, in 2015, Waugh had finished no better than 40th and just a week ago missed qualifying for NCAA regionals by one shot.

The 13th Annual Great Loxahatchee River Race is Saturday, May 16, 2015 which will be hosted by Waste Water Management, Inc. and Florida Paddling Trails Association. This event is at the premier destination of Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound, Florida with many competitive paddlers coming to join the fun-filled event from around the state as well as families relaxing and willing to spend a beautiful day on the waters.

On Friday, Admirals Cove held their annual U.S. Open Local Qualifying Tournament, where golfers looked to start their journey of making it to the U.S. Open.

84 golfers teed it up at the Jupiter club and five advanced to the next round of qualifying with Beon Yeong Lee of Canada earning Medalist honors. Lee shot a 64 to win the qualifier by two shots. Brett Stegmaier of Vero Beach and Ken Looper of Mandeville, LA tied for second, both shooting 66s. Armando Zarlenga of Argentina and Santiago Gavino of Austin, TX earned the final two spots with rounds of 67 and winning a 10 for 2 playoff. Should any of them not be able to compete in sectional qualifying, Brady Watt of Australia and Robbie Greenwell are the alternates.

Many that live in Jupiter, Florida are acquainted with the story of Henry Flagler’s railroad which converted to the Florida East Coast Railroad. The train depot served the public well for many years since the year of 1915!

The 22-by-53 foot historic train depot is now situated at Sawfish Bay Park in Jupiter with very close proximity to its original location and was famous for a stopping point throughout the early days of Flagler’s railroad. The proposal is to turn the 1915 Henry Flagler train depot into a museum and to be rented by civic groups, all this was endorsed on Tuesday by the Town Council. OFFSHORE: The South Florida fishing action out deep has been a bit scattered far offshore. Closer in, is where you will find the best fishing action for the springtime. The sailfish bite seemed to slow down a bit due to the lack of current and greener waters. That could change any day as the current changes. The Cobia bite is really good in areas of the sand pile. Lots of fish around South Florida, especially near shallower wrecks in the 70’-90’ foot range. Live baits work outstanding such as crabs, pilchards, pinfish, mullet and shrimp.  On the deep side of the Juno Beach, Florida 180' ledge where is a mixed bag of fish and rudder fish and blue runners have tackled the area. New Movie Theater in Jupiter

The Shoppes of Jupiter, across from the fabulous Harbourside Place, has finally set an inaugural date for the brand new Cinépolis Cinémas in the summer, which was previously known as Paragon Jupiter Cinéma, located on US 1 in Jupiter, Florida.

The new Cinépolis Cinémas is planning on being fully functional and opened by June 2015. The brand new movie theater will consist of about 1,460 available seats and will be having two distinctive concepts for customers to choose from.
