The first ever “Roots & Ruts Off Road 5K” will take place this Saturday, March 30th. This unique, off-road race meanders through the North Jupiter Flatwoods Natural Area where you will find beautiful native habitats, including mesic flatwoods, wet flatwoods, depression marsh, and dome swamp ecosystems.

This race supports the Els for Autism Foundation™. Your participation will help us continue to secure funding for the Sports, Medical and Research, and Adult Services Facilities at The Els Center of Excellence™.

The City of Stuart, the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast and Students4H20 are joining forces this coming Saturday, March 23rd, to combine two of their signature events — WaterFest and Mutt March — into one free event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Memorial Park.

Mutt March is a 5K run for both people and their furry friends to kick off the event. Afterward, guests can parade their pets around the park, compete in a pet costume contest, shop at the flea-'less' market with local vendors and their wares, have their pets participate in a lure course and derby races and get a pet pic in the humane society photo booth.

This Saturday, March 23rd, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center will host its 16th Annual TurtleFest from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is a great event for Palm Beach residents of all ages, especially those interested in local wildlife and marine ecosystems.

Over 10,000 guests will join together at TurtleFest 2019 at the free-admission event which focuses on promoting conservation and endangered sea turtles. Guests will enjoy music, art, shopping, educational presentations, games, and other activities. Returning this year is the World Ocean pavilion, which features educational and fun activities focused on water conservation.

The Single Fin Showdown is an annual surf and skim festival held in Stuart. Last year, the Showdown attracted 150 competitors and 1,500 festival spectators. “Single Fin” means that contestants in the event ride 60's and 70's Single Fin Shortboards (provided) for the shortboard divisions and any board 9' and up for the Longboard divisions. 

The Single Fin Showdown is the perfect for families and those interested in watersports like surfing and skimming. The event is meant to bring the surfing community together, and what started in 2009 with a small group of surfers riding vintage single fin surfboards for bragging rights, has evolved into one of the largest one-day, amateur surf and skim festivals in Florida.

Dreher South Park is hosting this year’s Palm Beach Walk to Defeat ALS this Saturday at 8:30 AM. This is a short walk for a great cause. Fundraising through the Walk drives bold and urgent innovation as you and other South Florida residents march together toward a treatment and ultimately a cure for ALS.

Participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS has a direct impact on people living with ALS and their families at the local level. Through education, support groups, access to care and advocacy, the ALS Association is working to defeat ALS and provide hope to people living with ALS and their families.
