The newly renovated Rosemary Square, in downtown West Palm Beach has reopened for visitors are taking extra precautions to help keep everyone safe.

The outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment venue has hand sanitizer stations throughout the property and frequent cleanings of high touch areas. The center encourages everyone to wear a mask, wash hands regularly and to keep distance.

Public events are postponed until further notice, but serval shops and restaurants have reopened for the public. Rosemary Square’s valet has returned on Okeechobee Boulevard and all parking garages have touchless payments.

As the first day of summer fast approaches, what better way than to spend it having fun at local water park. Rapids Water Park announced that they officially opened their gates last Friday, June 5th for the summer season.

The Park and its managers have said that they will be introducing a new SafeSplash Guidelines to help keep everyone healthy and safe.  Some of the guidelines include: social distancing ground markers, reducing the parks capacity to 50% percent, wellness checks for both employees and guests, and adding additional hand sanitizing stations throughout the park.

Martin County, like many counties in Florida has entered Phase Two of Reopening South Florida last week. Nearby counties Palm Beach County, Broward County and Miami-Dade County are still waiting to hear back from Governor DeSantis on whether they can enter Phase Two. Phase Two took effect on Friday, June 5th in Martin County.

Here is what Phase Two means:

  • Restaurants may allow bar-top seating with appropriate social distancing
  • Pubs and Bars may operate at 50% capacity inside and full capacity outside with appropriate social distancing
  • Retail stores may operate at full capacity
  • Gyms and Fitness Centers may operate at full capacity

The Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society announced Wednesday their reopening date. The Zoo is opening to the general public today, Friday, June 5th after being temporality closed.

The Zoo opened first to its members on Monday, June 1st and today the zoo will be open to everyone from 9 am to 5 pm. According to the news release, the zoo will operate normally with a few exceptions and restrictions.

Restrictions include:

  • Capacity will be limited and carefully monitored to allow for social distancing
  • All visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance
  • One-way pathways will be designated throughout the Zoo in the Florida Wetlands, Tropics of the Americas and The Islands

For the past few years, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts their annual Run 4 The Sea race to help celebrate ocean conservation and raise money for endangered sea turtles. Usually, the event takes place along A1A and the beach in Juno Beach and Jupiter, but this year the run will now be virtual.

The 2020 Run 4 The Sea is now a virtual 4-mile timed race and a kid’s 1 miler at any location of your choosing. Proceeds from the run will still benefit The Loggerhead Marinelife Center.  This year marks the 9th annual Run 4 The Sea.

The Run is open to runners, walkers, and hikers of all ages. The cost is $40 dollars for adults and $20 dollars for children. All participants will receive a sport style participant t-shirt and a custom finisher medal.

Theme parks across the state of Florida have been shut down for months and yesterday, officials from two theme parks met with the Orange County officials to discuss plans for reopening.  Walt Disney World and SeaWorld Orlando are planning to open in the upcoming weeks.

Walt Disney World presented its plans and several new safety measures for park goers and cast members. Disney is requiring that cast members and guests have their temperatures check at the park entrances and wear a mask. Disney is also allowing visitors to make an advanced reservation for park entry to keep the numbers down. There will be no parades, fireworks or any activity that creates a large crowd at Disney World for a while.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum announced last week that it will begin to reopen and allow visitors to start climbing the lighthouse tower steps this Saturday, May 30th.

Guests can also start to enjoy the historic grounds, climbing the 1860’s lighthouse tower 105 steps and visit the lighthouse gift shop. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is opening in a few phases.

The reopening this Saturday is part of Phase One. The Lighthouse and Museum will have limited hours and limited days. The hours of operation are Thursday through Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm with the last grounds admission being at 3 pm.
