Every Saturday morning, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is continuing to host their Self-Guided Beach Cleanup through the new year. Every weekend, volunteers head to the beach to participate in helping keep our local beaches and ocean clean.

The Self-Guided Beach Cleanup Program was introduced in 2020 as a new program that has been added to the calendar weekly. Volunteers who wish to participate are asked to stop by Marine Debris Sorting Station on the back deck of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach to pick up their cleanup supplies. Once supplies picked up, volunteers can make their way down to the beach to start the cleanup. When finished, bring the bag of debris back to the Sorting Station and pick up a free t-shirt as a Thank You gift…

The popular South Florida Fair that is held at the South Florida Fairgrounds every January is planning on presenting two fairs in 2021. The two fairs will include a mini fair held this January and then a full-fledge traditional fair which is currently scheduled for May.

Both fairs will continue to be held at the South Florida Fairgrounds. According to organizers of the fair, everyone who purchases a ticket for the mini fair will be granted one free admission for the fair in May. Tickets must be purchased from the South Florida Fair’s website.

Lighthouse Sunset Tour: January 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th

Wednesday evenings, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum hosts their popular Lighthouse Sunset Tour.  Climb the 105 steps to the top of the lighthouse to take in the incredible views and sunset. Visitors will also get an inside look at the Lighthouse Watchroom and even get a chance to see the light turn on and illuminate the sky. The spokesperson for the Florida Lottery said a Palm Beach Gardens Publix Super Market sold one of three winning tickets in Friday's Fantasy 5 drawing.  The store in the Promenade Shopping Plaza on Alternate State Road A1A sold the ticket, which bore the number combination of 4-13-17-18-28. It paid $66,336.48.

The other winning tickets were sold in Aventura and Rockledge, the lottery official said.

According to Florida Lottery Secretary John Davis the lottery is extremely appreciative to Governor DeSantis for the guidance and leadership the lottery has received this year. Downtown Palm Beach Gardens is bringing back their outdoor concert series on Friday and Saturday nights this January. The weekly concerts are free, and everyone is welcomed to attend.

The outdoor concerts feature a diverse musical lineup of regional and local bands playing everything from country, pop, jazz, rock, and everything in between. The concerts take place in the Center Court.

Before or after the concert, make sure to check out one of the several restaurants located at the Downtown for something to eat. The Village of Wellington just celebrated a milestone birthday over the holiday weekend. The village was incorporated on December 31st, 1995 and this year marked its 25th anniversary.

Festivities occurred over the weekend at Green Park and the village leaders did everything they could to ensure everyone’s health and safety. Visitors remained in their cars for a socially distant firework display to help celebrate the village’s 25th anniversary and to help ring in the New Year.
