The Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society is a non-profit and is one of Florida’s top-rated zoological organizations in the state. The zoo is located in West Palm Beach in Dreher Park and many animals in the zoo are endangered. The zoo houses more than 550 animals and over 190 species and roam throughout the 23 acres of tropical habitat.

Today, the Palm Beach Zoo is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm and is only closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Tickets are required for admission and the zoo is separated into different areas. Some of the animals that roam freely include: monkey’s, birds, tigers, bears, alligators, sloths, jaguars, and much more.

This Friday, Downtown Abacoa is hosting their popular reoccurring Food Truck Friday on Town Center Drive.

Town Center Drive will be closed to traffic and the Food Trucks line up along the road for the ultimate outdoor picnic. The Food Trucks featured throughout the night specialize in their own cuisine and feature everything from tacos, desserts, burgers, hot dogs, sea food and much more.

Gather your friends and family and enjoy a night of fun and great food. There will also be a DJ there performing the latest hits at the Abacoa Amphitheater. Feel free to bring your own chairs, tables and blankets to enjoy the food and music. Free parking is available in several parking garages nearby. Tonight, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting their reoccurring Lighthouse Sunset Tour.

Come and climb to the top of the iconic Jupiter Lighthouse and see the spectacular sunset views over the water and the town of Jupiter. Visitors will also get to witness the light turn on and illuminate the sky and get a sneak peak into the lighthouse Watch Room to see how everything works.

The tours are approximately 75 minutes long and cost $20 dollars per person or $15 dollars per lighthouse members. The tours are weather permitting, be sure to check their website for more information. The tours are open to all ages and children must be at least 48 inches tall to climb the tower steps.

Rapids Water Park is a popular summer attraction in Palm Beach County. The water park is the largest water park in all of South Florida with more than 30 acres of space. The park features 42 slides and attractions including a wave pool, lazy river, a kid’s zone, surfing, body boarding, and giant water slides.

The water park and slides range in all levels of intensity, some of the slides can hold up to 6 people at a time. This year marks the water park’s 40th Anniversary and opened for the summer season in March. Rapids can also accommodate and host special events, school trips, parties, and have cabana rentals to rent throughout the day.

For two weekends in a row, Carlin Park in Jupiter is hosting the annual Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival. The festival is in its 29th year and this year Shakespeare By The Sea brings another summer of Shakespeare under the stars. This year’s production will be Romeo and Juliet.

The Festival begins this Thursday, July 11th through Sunday, July 14th and next Thursday, July 18th through Sunday, July 21st. The gates open for the event at 6:30 pm with performances beginning at 8 pm. Shakespeare By The Sea is free to attend with a suggested donation.

Those who attend are welcomed to bring your own blankets, chairs and food to the outdoor professional performances. There will also be a Food truck onsite during the night for food and drink purchases.

This month, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting two Sea Turtle Sleepovers.

The Sea Turtle Sleepover is an exclusive over night event held at the Marinelife Center. The popular event features a tour of the Sea Turtle Hospital, games, activities, scavenger hunts, tours of the aquariums, an ocean themed movie, pizza, snacks and much more. Those who attend are welcomed to bring their own drinks and snacks, the center asks that they are in reusable containers and bottles.

The sleepover is for children ages 8 through 12 years old. This is a drop-off only event and parents and chaperones are invited to stay the night and participate in all activities during the night.

Jupiter’s newest waterfront event venue is now open for Sunday Brunch during the summer. The Pelican Club located on the Jupiter Inlet across the water from the Jupiter Lighthouse is offering Sunday Brunch starting June 23rd through the end of the summer from 10 am to 2 pm.

Come and enjoy the coastal brunch featuring traditional breakfast buffet, sea to table cuisine, made to order pancakes, eggs benedict, waffles, French toast and much more. The giant brunch is $ 60 dollars per person and includes bottomless mimosas for two hours. Children 12 years old and younger are half price.
