“Sundays on the Waterfront” is a FREE monthly concert series in South Florida featuring national and regional acts.  It takes place on the third Sunday of each month on the gorgeous waterfront in downtown West Palm Beach.  The City of West Palm Beach Department of Recreation and Strategic Innovations, Division of Community Events produce “Sundays on the Waterfront”.

This Thursday in West Palm Beach is the 5th Annual “Pairings” Event of West Palm Beach. The event is a popular culinary happening that focuses on bringing together the best food and wine in the county. 

Hosted by the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority, the West Palm Beach Pairings Event showcases 25 local restaurants and their artisanal creations. The event donates its proceeds to Families First of Palm Beach County, which is a non-profit, countywide service dedicated to the well being of children and families in the area. The program’s mission is to better families and their children through “high-quality programs in prevention, early intervention, child development, behavioral health, education and advocacy.”

Green Cay Wetlands and Nature Center

Green Cay Wetlands and Nature Center in Boynton Beach is a gorgeous, big park offering tons of opportunity for outdoor adventure. The park is centered on nature and offers a 1.5-mile boardwalk that you are allowed to bike on. The boardwalk hovers over the native wetlands and while on it you can see some amazing Floridian wildlife you may have never seen in person. Saturday, May 14th is the annual Save the Tiger 5K at the Palm Beach Zoo in West Palm Beach. Join the zoo in a passionate effort to help save the Malayan tiger. 

“The Malayan tiger is the most endangered of the 5 remaining species of tigers.  It's estimated that there are fewer than 250 in the wild.  The Palm Beach Zoo works closely with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), supporting species and habitat research and protection at Endau-Rompin National Park in Malaysia. The South Florida Science Museum and Aquarium unveiled plans for this week for expansion and a new outdoor park, which includes a miniature golf course.  Jim Fazio and Gary Nicklaus have designed the outdoor park. Both of the miniature golf course designers are sons of local legends in the golfing industry.

To be named the “Conservation Course”, and projected to open this spring, the miniature golf course “will be used for putting clinics and tournaments, and to teach kids the elementary principles of force, motion and angles”.
