The Palm beach Zoo and Conservation Society is a non-profit organization and one of Florida’s top-rated Zoological Organizations. The popular zoo is located in Dreher Park in West Palm Beach. The zoo is home to over 550 animals and over 190 different species. Many of the animals here are endangered and roam through the 23 acres of tropical habit. Most recently the Zoo has welcomed a new Baird’s Tapir Calf, or a Central American Tapir which are native to Mexico, Central America, and northwestern South America. The baby calf was born January 20th.

The 4th Annual Barks, Babes, and Bros is happening this Friday at Camelot in West Palm Beach. The event a giant party and celebrity auction to raise funds for injured rescue dogs in South Florida and the coup de grâce is a celebrity dating auction just in time for Valentine’s Day being the week prior. The 2019 Manatee Lagoon Festival is back again this weekend. The ManateeFest kicks off tomorrow Friday, February 1st with a Movie Night Kickoff.

The movie for the kickoff is “Finding Nemo” starting at 5 pm. Bring your chairs and blankets for the movie under the stars to kick off the fun event. Food and drink vendors will be on site during the movie night.

Fishing is a popular activity in South Florida. Whether you’re a beginner or have been fishing for years, the waterways of Jupiter and the Loxahatchee River provide an ideal spot for a large variety of inshore and offshore fishing along the 380-mile intercostal waterways of Florida. The 2019 Palm Beach Masters is the ultimate horse show and features three events between January and March. The Master series features international show jumping combined with a social scene to bring the horse shows to the next level. The three events take place at the Deeridge Farms in Wellington.

This year, the series has added another new event, called the Nations Cup which includes eight nations competing against each other, similar to the Olympic Games format.

Every day of the week, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach hosts Public Daily Tours of their Sea Turtle Facility. Visitors will get an up-close opportunity to see the sea turtles and fish houses in the research and rehabilitation center.

The Marinelife Center’s tours are open to the public and all are welcomed to attend to see how the center operates. The tours last approximately an hour and are led by the educational experts and the staff of the center to answers all of your questions.

The tours cost $10 for adults and $5 dollars for children under 8 years old. Those who wish to attend can register online or at the Guest Service Desk in the main lobby. The tours are limited to 15 people per tour due to the amount of space.
