The natural language of around 500,000 deaf people in the US and Canada is American Sign Language (ASL). Loggerhead Marinelife Center has decided to make things easier for their wide range of visitors by offering ASL tours in addition to their regularly scheduled daily tours.

ASL-guided tours are now available upon request and led by a fluent guide ready to share exciting educational information about their incredible sea turtle research and rehabilitation efforts. Tours usually last for an hour and are $10 a person with a five-person or $50 minimum.

The Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation (ERAF) invites you to join the 3rd Annual Country Festival presented by Infiniti Stuart.

The festival will feature fun for the whole family including pony rides, barn tours, trick-or-treating, live music by the Samantha Russel Band, a dance demonstration by the Cactus Moon Dance Club, and food made by the Martin County Sherriff’s Office Grill Team. Food is courtesy of Corner Café Tequesta, and beer is provided by Hop Life Brewing Company.

Entry is $3 a person, and all proceeds benefit the rescue horses of Equine Rescue & Adoption Foundation.

The festival will take place on Sunday, October 21st 12-4pm at 6400 SW Martin Hwy in Palm City, Florida.

On Friday, October 26th, the Humane Society of Greater Jupiter/Tequesta will be hosting “PAWTY Masquerade,” a party to raise money and awareness for its mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home animals.

The Countdown 2 Zero (C2Z) pet adoption event at the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach is the county's largest event of its kind. More than 22 rescues will be there with over 1,000 homeless puppies, dogs, cats and kittens, rabbits and more. 

The 5th annual adoption gathering is happening on Saturday, September 8th from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. It's hosted by Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control and sponsored by the Lois Pope Life Foundation. Dog lovers it's time to get excited- the 4th annual 'Pup Crawl' is happening this Saturday with the theme "Harry Pawter."

The pup crawl is a fundraiser for the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast. It's been a hit the past three years and the society is hoping for another one. 

Locals can bring their pups to five different pet-friendly restaurants/bars in the Stuart area. It's $25 to participate and includes a free drink at each stop. The "Harry Pawter" theme means you and your pup should arrive with style because there will be costume contests, prizes, a 50/50 raffle and giveaways throughout the evening.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach hosts several Turtle Walk events throughout the year for visitors to learn and observe the egg laying and nesting process of sea turtles. During the event experienced Loggerhead Marinelife staff have set up a designated section of Juno Beach searching for sea turtles while the visitors get an informative presentation before they get to see for themselves.

Turtle Walks are $18 dollars per person and $15 dollars for Loggerhead Marinelife Center members. Walk in’s are welcome but a spot is not guaranteed. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is a non-profit sea turtle hospital, rehabilitation and research center. A brand-new dog park on Jupiter’s Indiantown Road is scheduled to open summer 2018. The Town of Jupiter has approved a new park which includes and an exercise and play area for our furry friends.  The park is an open space located directly north of the intersection on Indiantown Road and Center Street at 2183 West Indiantown Road in Jupiter. The park will be completed in two phases. 

In the first phase, the open space park will contain a beautiful green area, ample parking with lighting, a small restroom, a building for storage, sidewalks, gazeboes, a lake, and the dog park. There will be a fenced-in dog run for smaller dogs and a detached dog run for larger breeds

Check out the Treasure Coast Bird Expo coming to town this Sunday in Stuart.

There will be 30+ vendors, a petting zoo, education sessions, a silent auction, raffle and more. See all kinds of birds from all over the world, plus other unique animals like wallabies, tortoises, foxes and pythons- which are all at the petting zoo so you can interact with them! There will also be cages and supplies for sale and birds who need to be adopted.
