Every year, the Palm Beach Jerk & Caribbean Culture Festival draws thousands of people to celebrate food, music, and culture of the Caribbean!

The Festival takes place at the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach on Memorial day, May 28th, from 2-10 p.m.

You can enjoy an evening of authentic Jamaican cuisine, live island music, carnival rides and more. Many local vendors participate in the event with cool arts and crafts and you can be a judge in the jerk cook-off, tasting jerk prepared by locally residing native islanders. 

Aside from carnival rides, kids have plenty of games and activities to take part in like face painting and bounce houses.

The Friends of Jupiter Beach is hosting their 9th annual Food and Wine Festival this Saturday, May 19th at The Riverwalk Plaza in Jupiter.

The festival this year will feature more than 45 restaurants and vendors serving signature dishes, wine and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Many restaurants and vendors have signed up again this year in addition to new ones for this family friendly event. There will also be a live performance by the Samantha Russell Band. The Food and Wine Festival will go on as scheduled rain or shine from 2 pm to 5 pm under the Indiantown Bridge.

The Robert Morgade Library in Stuart is hosting an ongoing speaker series called "Outreach," and this week Historian Josh Liller will give a presentation about the history of the Coast Guard on the Treasure Coast.

The Coast Guard had a large role in the development of Stuart, Hobe Sound and Jupiter when it merged with the Lighthouse Service of the Jupiter Lighthouse in 1939. Josh Liller will talk about the military operations of the lighthouse, the local Loran Stations, and the overlooked contributions the Guard had in the area. His presentation will also feature current research statistics and photos from the Coast Guard Historian's Office. Q&A will happen afterward.

The Royal Palm Beach Seafood Festival is back and is going to the be held this Saturday, May 19th and Sunday, May 20th at the Royal Palm Beach Commons. The Commons is a 167-acre park with a large grass area and surrounded by water. The festival was formally held in downtown West Palm Beach for the last couple of years and this year the festival has relocated and added another day to the event.

The festival this year will not be a two-day event featuring some of the best and freshest seafood in South Florida featuring lobster, crabs, fish, shrimp, oysters, and much more. There will be a variety of seafood dishes and also a variety of non-seafood dishes to choose from.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting their popular Hike Through History this Saturday May 5th.

The hike includes a 2-mile journey through the 120-acre Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Natural Conservation Area to discover the history and nature of the historic Jupiter site. The site is just one of three natural sites in the United States that is protected by the Bureau of Land Management’s National Conservation Lands Programs. The streets of downtown Abacoa Jupiter will be shut down at noon on Saturday to prepare for a Cinco de Mayo Block Party for all ages from 4-10 p.m.

There will be lots of fun things for the kids to do from 4-6 p.m. including mini golf, face painting, temporary tattoos and a pinata.

For the adults there will be a cornhole tournament, beer pong and a dance party all evening long. DAS Beer Garden will be serving a Cinco de Mayo-inspired beer list with tequila barrel-aged brews, Mexican coffee stouts, margarita goses and churro cider. The Coral Sky Amphitheater located at the South Florida Fair Grounds is an open-air music venue located in West Palm Beach. The amphitheater is used for concerts and shows featuring some of the biggest music stars and events.

The venue recently changed its name from the Perfect Vodka Amphitheater to the Coral Sky Amphitheater last year. The amphitheater is run and operated by Live Nation, the world’s largest event promoter and venue operator. Within the next several months, CityPlace in West Palm Beach will undergo renovations to update the 18-year-old outdoor entertainment and shopping center. The Mediterranean style venue will begin its transformation to a more comfortable, flexible design with more plants and vegetation.

The plans which call for the city’s approval include plant filled trellises, walkways covered by large shade sails, a curb-less Rosemary Avenue to slow and narrow the traffic.
