Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, 2500 Jupiter Park Drive in Jupiter, received a $20,000 grant to fund environmental education. The grant, awarded by the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation, is intended to fund virtual fields trips for children in schools across Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.  This generous donation from the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation will impact up to 1,000 children in 40 classrooms.

A manatee rescued in West Palm Beach is now being treated in Miami at the Miami Seaquarium.  Police officers with Riviera Beach and West Palm Beach teamed up with officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to rescue the manatee near the Manatee Lagoon.  A spokesman at Manatee Lagoon said the manatee is being treated for a severe lung infection.  The good news is she is eating regularly now.

Manatee Lagoon is one of Palm Beach County’s fun and engaging family-friendly attractions, with interactive, entertaining exhibits that tickle your curiosity about the environment of the Lake Worth Lagoon and the wonderful world of manatees. The Town of Jupiter has a rich historic timeline filled with stories. Tales of the area ranging from the ancient Indians, Tequesta Tribe, that lived here until the European discovery of the area by Ponce de Leon. The spokesperson for the Florida Lottery said a Palm Beach Gardens Publix Super Market sold one of three winning tickets in Friday's Fantasy 5 drawing.  The store in the Promenade Shopping Plaza on Alternate State Road A1A sold the ticket, which bore the number combination of 4-13-17-18-28. It paid $66,336.48.

The other winning tickets were sold in Aventura and Rockledge, the lottery official said.
