This past weekend at Rybovich Superyacht Marina, over 85 boats from all over Palm Beach County showed up to support the much-needed research and awareness of prostate cancer by fishing in the Anglers For The Cure KDW Tournament.

The day of fishing proved sparse for most competitors, with kingfish being the only species that seemed to truly be showing up. Although most teams tried zig-zagging for wahoo at first light, the only wahoo caught was reeled in around 2 pm. At 22.9 pounds, it weighed in and won 1st place wahoo (and only wahoo on the board) in the Mark Gerretson Memorial Fishing Tournament in Delray Beach, as well as number one and only in the Anglers For The Cure…

Palm Beach County is applauding local police officers for their passion for not only serving and protecting residents of this beautiful place we call home, but also helping everyone rest easier knowing that they're also passionate about protecting our children. Multiple Palm Beach County police departments, including Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Riviera Beach, and Lantana, have signed agreements with the school district to patrol local elementary schools until the district police department hires its own officers.

Team Elam is a nonprofit organization formed by ex-NFL star Abe Elam along with his brother, Matt Elam of the Baltimore Ravens. The charity hosts events throughout the year to help kids in Palm Beach, Martin and Broward counties succeed, teaching them skills in both athletics and in life.

"I told myself whenever God gave me the opportunity to give back, that's what I would do," Elam told the Palm Beach Post in an interview, "I just hope these kids take notice of it, make the best of each opportunity they get, and come back and do great things as well."

Brooks Koepka, a Jupiter resident and Cardinal Newman High School graduate, won his second 2018 major title at the 100th PGA Championship on Sunday, totaling three major championships in his young career.

28-year-old Koepka, amongst Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, and Jordan Spieth, is the one of five golfers in history to win three or more majors before the age of 29.

Sealing the deal with pars on the 17th and 18th hole at Bellerive County Club, he finished with a 4-under-par 66 and set the 72-hole PGA Championship scoring record with a 264, trumping Jupiter Island’s Tiger Woods and crowd favorite Adam Scott.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting a sunset tour on August 15th, 2018 at 7:30 pm. There’s no view quite like a Jupiter sunset from the top of the lighthouse, and participants get to witness the original light turning on to illuminate the night sky as well as an inside look at the interworkings of the lighthouse watchroom.

Florida recreational divers have a little over three weeks left to cash in on rewards ranging from $500 to $5,000 for harvesting FWC-tagged lionfish.

The statewide Lionfish Challenge began on Lionfish Removal and Awareness Day (May 19, 2018) and runs through Labor Day (Sept. 3, 2018). FWC tagged lionfish with external dart tags at 50 randomly-selected non-disclosed artificial reef sites between the depths of 80’ and 120’.

To participate, you must complete a registration form, and find and harvest an FWC-tagged lionfish, then submit a clear photo of the lionfish and tag including documentation of the harvester name, tag ID#, GPS coordinates of harvest location and date harvested to Lionfish@MyFWC.com.

The South Florida Fair officially announced its 2019 theme today, and we’re SUPER excited about it.

Amongst the fried Oreos and waterslides, Superheroes of all forms will be honored, and the premiere opening will be on January 17th with a 5 pm “Ride-A-Thon”. The full event runs for 17 days from January 18th through February 3rd.
