The River Center in Jupiter is hosting the 5th Annual Jr. Angler Fishing Tournament beginning this Saturday, June 2nd, running through Saturday, July 14th. Anglers will have six weeks to accumulate points in this fun and unique catch-and-release tournament.

All anglers have to do to keep their score is get photographed with the fish they catch and then submit it online. Registration is open throughout the tournament so anyone can join in and try to get the most points over the six weeks.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park is a Florida State Park in Martin County settled between Tequesta and Hobe Sound. Located just five miles north of Jupiter, the park features a variety of natural habitats, mangroves, river swamps, and wildlife among its 16 natural communities. The Loxahatchee River, Florida’s first federally designated scenic and wild river, runs through the middle of the park.

The park got its name after a Quaker merchant named Jonathan Dickinson who was shipwrecked off the coast in 1696. This Saturday, May 19th, people all over the country will head to the coastlines to participate in the International Hands Across the Sand event. 

Hands Across the Sand was invented 8 years ago to encourage clean energy and clean water. It's a day of action uniting coastal residents, business owners and beachgoers against offshore drilling according to Diane Buhler, organization founder. Thanks to Florida's multi-billion dollar tourism industry that is dependent upon our white sand beaches, the state is exempt from any U.S. offshore drilling. The Royal Palm Beach Seafood Festival is back and is going to the be held this Saturday, May 19th and Sunday, May 20th at the Royal Palm Beach Commons. The Commons is a 167-acre park with a large grass area and surrounded by water. The festival was formally held in downtown West Palm Beach for the last couple of years and this year the festival has relocated and added another day to the event.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting their popular Hike Through History this Saturday May 5th.

The hike includes a 2-mile journey through the 120-acre Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Natural Conservation Area to discover the history and nature of the historic Jupiter site. The site is just one of three natural sites in the United States that is protected by the Bureau of Land Management’s National Conservation Lands Programs. The Coral Sky Amphitheater located at the South Florida Fair Grounds is an open-air music venue located in West Palm Beach. The amphitheater is used for concerts and shows featuring some of the biggest music stars and events.

Within the next several months, CityPlace in West Palm Beach will undergo renovations to update the 18-year-old outdoor entertainment and shopping center. The Mediterranean style venue will begin its transformation to a more comfortable, flexible design with more plants and vegetation.

The plans which call for the city’s approval include plant filled trellises, walkways covered by large shade sails, a curb-less Rosemary Avenue to slow and narrow the traffic. SunFest is Florida’s largest waterfront art and music festival held annually in West Palm Beach. Each May, more than 175,000 concert goers come together to see the popular four-day festival featuring some of the world’s biggest and hottest musical acts perform live. SunFest is coming to Palm Beach County this May 3rd through May 6th.
