Orchids are flowering plants that are often colorful and fragrant.  There are over 26,000 varieties of orchids more than twice the number of bird species on the planet and four times the number of mammal species.  Orchids date back 76-84 million years.  The first evidence of this was fossilized when an extinct stingless bee was carrying pollen from a previously unknown orchid subspecies.

SOUTH FLORIDA KNOWS FISH!

Our oceans are so mysteriously bountiful and full of slamming fish, there is not much better than fresh fish fillets! It could have something to with eating what we excitedly worked hard catching or maybe it’s purely the deliciousness tastes of the fillets.

South Florida on the waterfront has an abundance of edible saltwater fish and being able to identify from the catch and release fish is important, since the only difference between them can be ever so slightly, view the popular profiles of Florida Saltwater Fish from Florida Wildlife Commission (FWC).

Stand Up Paddleboard classes

Some sports that initially have been played outdside have also been brought inside, such as treadmills for runners and indoor wave pools for surfers as well as spin class for bicyclists. Now, they are adding another sport, Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) to the indoor world!

A mix of clouds and sunshine is in the weekends forecast with slight chances of rain showers. Winds are NE about 10-15 mph. More spring like conditions are gathering in South Florida with 80 degree air temperatures and water temps are heating up to 70 degrees.

OFFSHORE- For those that are willing to deal with the rough conditions offshore, sailfish are being pushed south within 100-250 feet of water and big kingfish are scattered around Palm Beach to Boynton Beach. Dolphins are still around and in fair numbers and the North East winds could come with more good dolphin bites. Sea turtle nesting season has legitimately taken place on March 1st and along South Florida’s coastline, locals have already stumbled upon several sea turtles sightings on the naturally pure beaches. “In the dark and out of sight is where South Florida’s sea turtle population literally comes to life.” Seasonal lighting regulations have taken into effect which entails waterfront residents and nearby businesses that are close to the Atlantic Ocean to faint lights in order to help prevent female turtles from being scared off and aborting the natural nesting process.
