A fun new tapas restaurant is coming West Palm Beach. The small-plate Spanish cuisine, Basque is set to open this Thursday, March 22nd at the historic Hotel Bida in the El Cid neighborhood. 

Hotel Bida is an historic inn built in 1929 by the famous architect Belford Shoumate and is an example of Bermuda Vernacular architecture. The hotel is one of the earliest motor lodges in the United States and has been included in the National Register of Historic Places. The restaurant is part of an effort to reestablish the boutique hotel as a perfect destination for locals and out of town visitors.

Subculture Coffee is a hipster coffee roasters shop opened by two local guys in 2014. The first location opened on Clematis Street and soon became a staple spot in West Palm Beach. Now just 8 months after another shop in Delray, Subculture Coffee just opened a third location in Jupiter at Harbourside Place.

The Palm Beach Post is hosting a free cocktail party on March 27th to celebrate the release of their newsletter, "At The Table."

The new weekly newsletter is written by the Post's food editor, Liz Balmaseda, and it'll keep you updated on all things food around town. You don't have to be a Post subscriber to get the newsletter and it's free.

Tomorrow night Wellington is hosting their first annual Family Fun Night and lakeside boat parade. The event will start at 4:30 pm and runs until 7:30 pm as part of the Village of Lake Wellington Event Series.

The theme for family fun night is Mardi Gras, and the boats will be decorated with décor and lights for the parade to fit this month’s theme. The boats will gather on the west side of Lake Wellington near the Meadowland Cove boat launch before beginning the parade at the end of the night. All boaters are encouraged to participate in the boat parade.
