KITING FOR KIDS!

Together, a group of awe-inspiring local kite surfers and an incredible photographer created, Kiting for Kids, an organization that originated in Jupiter, Florida as a way for the kite surfing and the beach community to pay it forward to children battling cancer and other life threatening illnesses.

Kiting for Kids began last year and had beaches join from Australia to the Bahamas, this year local businesses and families will collect toys and bring them to Kiting for Kids toy drive that will be held on December 6, 2014 at Jupiter Beach, Stairway 33. The toy collection will be from noon onward and famously “The Grinch” will be there to take pictures with the kids.

Veterans Day is a day Americans honor those who have served their country in the armed forces.   It is always celebrated on November 11 and it is not a day to be confused with Memorial Day.  Memorial Day is a day set aside for those who have died in service to their country.

Veterans Day is for all who served in the armed forces.  On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, in 1918, an armistice (agreement) was reached between Allied Nations and Germany.  World War I officially ended. REEL ROUGH FISHING REPORT

Fishing Report 11.07.14

The weather forecast in the southeast region of Florida for this weekend may leave the ocean on the rougher side. As for Friday and Saturday, it will be the nicer of the days and Sunday will pick up some breeze and cause the marine forecast to be a bit bumpier. That being said it is predicted to be a fishy weekend!

OFFSHORE-
The north winds will be in the forecast causing the sailfish action! Search for the best action to be between 150’-300’ if your out of both Palm Beach and Jupiter inlets for the sailfish. Around the same areas, Dolphin fishing has been really good and showing up in great numbers along with a mixed assortment of other decent size fish. Kite fishing with live blue runners should definitely produce some hard bites…

TEQUESTA CHILI COOK-OFF & BEER TASTINGS

The Tequesta Firefighters are in competition to win the Chili Cook-off and Tequesta Brewery Company is hosting the beer tastings. Florida’s gentle giant, the Manatee, roams around the Southeast of Florida all year round, but in the months from November to April you will be able to see a lot more of these mellow sea creatures when things get a bit chilly.

10.31.14 Fishing Report

For the thrill of Halloween weekend, it seems the fishing will be facing a trick instead of a treat. Not just one, but two cold fronts will affect our fishing forecast. The first cold front is moving in on Friday (Halloween) night and then a second on Saturday, with strong winds making the ocean rough for anglers.

OFFSHORE-
The ocean will be very rough this weekend, but if you are able to sneak through the winds, you may scout a sailfish as the rough conditions are perfect for them and will most likely see dolphin as well. Cobia made a nice display this past week along the edge and around wrecks. Snapper fishing has remained very good out of Palm Beach and Jupiter Inlets too.
