The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens is the former residence of sculptor Ann Weaver Norton. The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is located on 2 acres near downtown West Palm Beach. The historic home and gardens feature a collection of 250 species of tropical palms.

Throughout the home, studio and gardens there is more than 100 pieces of art made by Norton herself. Some of the pieces of artwork include: 9 monumental sculptures, eight in brick and one in granite. The Norton Gardens is the largest tract of garden containing the great brick sculptures that are designed in a natural and unmanicured style.

The first Friday of every month there is a self-guided art tour that invites visitors to explore the culture of downtown Delray Beach between 6 and 9 p.m.

You can see art galleries and working studios while meeting talented, local artists. Stroll and navigate through myriad styles of art. The Art Walk features three artistic areas: Atlantic Avenue, Pineapple Grove and Artists Alley.

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is set to embark in the next phase of its expansion, five years after the last expansion. The doors closed after its last sold out production of “West Side Story” on April 15th.

The expansion is set to be completed in three different sections. The first section will include improvements to the parking lot by adding 30 to 40 more parking spaces, landscaping, additional curb cutouts and bringing more power to the building for the second phase of the expansion.

The theater will remain open and fully operational during the construction for upcoming limited engagements and summer productions. Construction for phase 1 is expected to be completed before the first production of the 2019/2020 season in the fall.

The Lion King is coming the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts at the end of the month as part of the center’s “Kravis on Broadway” series.

Disney’s The Lion King is hitting the stage Wednesday, April 24th through Sunday, May 5th. The popular movie turned Broadway show has been played to more than 95 million people around the world and this is the first time the musical will be in West Palm Beach. The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach has recently reopened after being closed for months of renovations. The Museum hosts their Art After Dark series on Friday nights.

Every Friday night the museum stays open later for the event and features a series of different programs every week. The next Art After Dark series is this Friday, April 5th and this week will feature a performance by Poet Lenelle Moise. Moise will perform both music and poems that move between the memories of her growing up as a Haitian immigrant and pop culture. Ellen E. Roberts will be there leading a Curator Conversation about the Ralston Crawford Across Media exhibition and the museum’s cinema will present the classic film “Moon Over Miami” in the gardens of the museum.

Art Affair West Palm Beach is back again for the 9th year in a row and will take place this week starting today through Sunday, April 7th.
