Palm Beach is laden with notable residents from political figures, entertainers, moguls of industry and distinguished artistic people of all experiences. One such notable resident of South Palm Beach is Rick Herter, Historical Aviation Artist. Herter has pieces hanging in the Smithsonian Institute, the Pentagon, the World Trade Center Museum and countless other esteemed locales.

South Florida loves the arts!  The Art in State Buildings Program attains artwork for new public facilities built within the Sunshine State with state funding. This program requires “that up to .5% of the construction appropriation be set aside to acquire artwork for permanent display in, on or around the facility”.

The Florida Division of Cultural Affairs is Florida's state arts agency and the division feels culture builds Florida. Arts and culture support jobs, tourism and education while contributing to an exciting South Florida.  The Division of Cultural Affairs provides programs, funds, and other resources including grants for: arts in education, museums, theater, dance, and other visual arts programs.

The Society of Four Arts, 100 Four Arts Plaza,  Palm Beach, is honored to present the “A Shared Legacy: Folk Art in America” exhibit.  This unique exhibition offers a splendid presentation of American traditional art made mainly in rural areas of New England, the Midwest, and the South between 1800 and 1920.
