For 30 years, the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter has been responsible for the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of thousands of animals back into their natural environment since opening. Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, the largest such facility in Palm Beach County reintroducing endangered and core species back into our fragile ecosystems. Since the opening of the sanctuary over 1.7 million guests have participated in the free education programs.  These educational programs help inform visitors about environmental conservation and protection.

Jupiter’s Downtown Abacoa area is preparing for two nights of events this weekend with open air dining and food trucks.

This month, the popular Food Truck Invasion takes over Town Center Drive tomorrow night, Friday, August 13th for a night of great food from some of the best local food trucks in South Florida. Food Trucks offer a variety of dining options for even the pickiest eater in the family. Some of the menu items include pastries and ice cream, burgers, seafood, Mexican food, specialty dishes, and much more.

On Friday nights during the summer, Downtown Palm Beach Gardens hots their Summer Concert Series at their newly remodeled Downtown Park. The outdoor concerts are free to attend, and all are welcomed to celebrate the start of the weekend.

The concerts feature a variety of regional and local bands and tribute bands playing everything from jazz, rock, pop, reggae, country, contemporary, blues, and everything in between. The concerts begin at 7 pm and go until 10 pm.

For students in Martin County and Palm Beach County, this weekend is the last weekend of summer and the last weekend to take advantage of Florida’s Tax-Free Sales Holiday on clothes and school items.

The Tax-Free Holiday began on July 31st and continues until Monday, August 9th, just in time before the school year starts. During this time, shoppers will be exempt from sales tax in the state of Florida for certain school supplies, clothing, and electronics. The tax will automatically be discounted at check out when purchasing qualifying items.

Students go back into the classroom in Palm Beach County on Tuesday, August 10th and students in Martin County go back into the classroom on Wednesday, August 11th.

For two weeks, visitors and locals will have a chance to savor local cuisine from a wide variety of eateries ranging from high-end restaurants to local neighborhood gems. Restaurants participating in the Restaurant Week have come up with a prix-fix menu and other dining deals to take advantage of.

The Town of Jupiter and the Jupiter Police Department are preparing for their annual National Night Out event and parade tonight. The event is aimed to bring awareness to crime and drug abuse prevention, generate support and participation in local crime efforts, and to support our local police, fire fighters and emergency workers.

Gather your friends and family and head out to see over 30 police vehicles, fire trucks, and more take part in the parade around town beginning at 6 pm tonight. Vehicles during the parade will be giving away goodies and treats along the parade route.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center announced recently that they will continue their partnership with the Palm Beach fashion icon and line, Lilly Pulitzer for their weekly Beach Clean-Ups on Juno Beach. The year-round sponsorship will include hosting specialty events throughout Palm Beach County Lilly Pulitzer retail stores and highlight two local and late pioneering women Lilly Pulitzer and Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s Eleanor Fletcher.

With the summer coming to an end for students in Palm Beach County and Martin County, the state of Florida is having their Back to School Sales Tax Holiday again this year.

Beginning this Saturday, July 31st through Monday, August 9th, shoppers will be exempt from sales tax in the state of Florida for certain school supplies and items. The Back to School Sales Tax exemption will be automatically deducted at checkout when purchasing qualifying items.
