The Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts a weekly Self-Guided Beach Clean Up on Saturday mornings for a chance for the public to help keep our beautiful beaches clean for us and the sea turtles.

Now more than ever the center needs our help. Sea Turtle Nesting Season begins in early March and goes until the end of October. During the seven months span, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center staff monitor the 9.5 miles of beach between the northern Palm Beach County line and the John D MacArthur Beach State Park. This area is one of the most populated sea turtle nesting spots in the world. During this time thousands of sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach.

Downtown Abacoa is preparing to host the 3rd Annual Cajun Crawfish and Music Festival this weekend. The festival is happening this Saturday, June 5th and the event is free and open to the public.

The Cajun Crawfish and Music Festival celebrates the culture and traditions of Louisiana through food, music, and dancing. The festival will feature authentic Cajun foods such as a crawfish boil, jambalaya, gumbo, po’boys, gator tails, classic Louisiana cocktails, and much more.

Palm Beach Gardens restaurant Voodoo Bayou, will be hosting a live cooking demonstration featuring their chefs and local celebrities to create specialty dishes throughout the day.

On Wednesday evenings, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum hosts their popular Lighthouse Sunset Tour for the public to get a chance to witness the incredible sunset over Jupiter.

Climb the 105 steps to the top of the lighthouse tower and take in spectacular views. Those who attend the Sunset Tour will get a sneak peek inside the Lighthouse Watchroom to see how everything works and will get a chance to witness the light turn on for the night and illuminate the sky.

The tours last approximately an hour and cost $25 dollars per person. Registration is required prior to the event due to popularity and limited space. Children are welcomed to attend the event and must be 48 inches tall to climb the tower and be accompanied by an adult.

This summer, Downtown Palm Beach Gardens is hosting a new Summer Concert Series every Friday night beginning in June through the end of August.  The Summer Music Series will be held outdoors, and restaurants located within the Downtown will be participating in the event by offering special discounts and promotions.

Every Friday night beginning at 7 pm the outdoor concert series will be taking place at the newly renovated Downtown Park.  Come and enjoy live music from local and regional tribute bands. The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is now home to the Dinosaur Revolution Exhibit. The exhibit opened at the South Florida Science Center this April and visitors will be able to check out dinosaurs at the exhibit until the end of November.

The exhibit features a giant Maze Adventure, role-play activities, Mesozoic Missions spanning over 150 million years, and much more. Become a junior paleontologist and search for clues and evidence of dinosaur activities and learn more about dinosaurs.

This Summer, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is excited to bring back their popular Sea Turtle Walks event to their calendar.  On Tuesday through Saturday evenings, beginning June 1st, the center is inviting guests to join in on their Guided Sea Turtle Walks.

The center has gotten approval from the state to bring guests down to the beach and witness, observe, and learn about sea turtle nesting and the egg-laying process of sea turtles. Sea Turtle Nesting Season begins March 1st through October 31st and the beaches of Jupiter and Juno Beach are a popular nesting spot for sea turtles.  The center monitors the beaches daily for new nests.

Lion Country Safari is one of Palm Beach County’s Top Attractions and is Florida’s only drive-through and walk-through safari as well as an amusement park. The safari is located in Western Palm Beach County and is situated on more than 600 acres of land with over 1000 animals from six continents throughout the safari’s seven sections.

Some of the notable animals and species roaming the area include white rhinos, lions, giraffes, chimpanzees, and zebras. There is 4-miles of pathways throughout the safari to drive through and see the animals.

Hurricane season begins in the Atlantic Ocean on June 1st and continues until November 30th.
