World renowned, British artist, Gordon Cheung has his newest exhibition on display at the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens in West Palm Beach. “Gordon Cheung: New Order Vanitas” is the artist’s most recent curation of inspired floral master pieces which in total he calls “Breaking Tulips.” 

Cheung drew his inspiration from some of the most prized art pieces in the world, 17th Century Dutch and Flemish paintings. Vanitas are still life paintings from the Dutch Golden Age. 

This body of work Cheung has created is called “New Order” which pays homage to “the financial crisis of 2008 and its precursor in western economic history, the “tulip mania” which wiped out many fortunes in 1637. Cheung graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2001 and he exhibits…

In October 2017, Americans purchased homes at the fastest pace in a decade- a 6.2% monthly increase nationally, and a 16% monthly increase in Palm Beach County, according to the Florida Realtors Association.

Why are people buying?

One contributing factor could be the result of the national interest rate on 30-year fixed mortgages continuing to drop. Last week mortgage rates dropped from 3.95% to 3.92% in comparison to 4.03% in 2016 (National Association of Realtors). Historically, lower mortgage rates have helped drive home sales and those looking to refinance the market.

Tonight, after years of preparation and work, a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held to reopen the renovated Palm Beach plaza. The event takes place in the east courtyard of the plaza at 5 pm.

‘The Royal’ is located on the intracoastal waterways, just over the Flagler Memorial Bridge in Palm Beach. Many of the tenants and locals are hoping that the new revamped plaza will become the anchor for Royal Poinciana Way and the north entrance to the island.

Sandi, the world's only 600-ton sand tree, is returning to West Palm Beach! Sandi has become a magical tradition in the area, carrying a story every time she comes back into town, telling us about where she's been and what she's been doing the whole year. The "Insane Inflatable 5k" is coming to West Palm Beach tomorrow! This is the world's largest inflatable obstacle course. It is a super fun 5k (3.1 mi) run that challenges participants with 11 blow-up obstacles throughout the track. They aren't small obstacles either- it's just something you have to see- you can check out a video here. Runners are sent out in increments because surely the obstacles will surely be time-consuming for some! However it's not about having the fastest time, it's about having a good time!
