Sunday night, January 20th, the moon will turn red over the United States during the last total lunar eclipse of the decade. A total lunar eclipse happens during a full moon when the moon completely passes through the Earth’s shadow. This causes the moon to turn a dark red or a rusty orange color.

The “Super Blood Wolf Moon” lunar eclipse will be visible across all of South America, North America and parts of Africa and Europe, this Sunday night into the early hours of Monday morning. This eclipse will be the first time since 2010, the entire United States will be able to see it.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse sits on top of a grassy mount overlooking Jupiter and the Inlet. The red lighthouse has been a part of Jupiter’s culture since it began construction in 1853. Today the lighthouse is open 7 days a week and hosts a series of events throughout the week.

Lighthouse Sunset Tour: Wednesday, January 16th, January 23rd, and January 30th
Visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse and take in the wonderful views while watching the light turn on to brighten the sky. Mark your calendars for the 3rd Saturday Gourmet Food Truck Event this Saturday, January 19th in downtown Hobe Sound.

The large block party brings DJ Jef of DancenSound, beverages, local shops and vendors and of course unique food trucks. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for a night of fun under the stars. The Hobe Sound Food Truck events occur on the 3rd Saturday of every month until May and then September 2019 through November 2019. The cost is free to attend.

Jupiter is home to one of the very few remaining dog- friendly beaches in the state and the only one in Palm Beach County.

The Jupiter Town Council adopted the policy to allow dogs on the beach back in 1989. Since then, the dog- friendly beach areas have been expanded to a 2.5 mile stretch of the beach starting at beach marker #25 at Marcinski Road to beach marker #59 at the south end of Carlin Park.

Dogs are free to roam in the designated section of the beach and enjoy the sand and water. Parking is also free, with a parking lot located on Marcinski Road as well as parking along A1A. Dogs are allowed on the beach from sunrise to sunset.

Tonight, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is hosting their Paint for a Purpose, Paint N Drink party at 6 pm. Paint N Drink is a mobile paint party planner that strives to create a fun and entertaining experience for everyone, no artistic experience is needed.
