The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens is reopening their doors to shoppers starting today. The mall closed in the middle of March due to Covid-19 and has gotten to approval from the Governor to reopen. 

Recently the mall sent out survey’s to mall customers on tips and feedback on how they should reopen and what shoppers should expect to see when the mall opens back up. The results from the survey found that shoppers are anxious to get back to the mall.

For the past several weeks, the popular Florida based grocery store adjusted their hours and reserved shopping hours for seniors only during the pandemic. With the Covid-19 numbers continuing to go down in Florida, Publix will now be opening during their normal hours of operation beginning tomorrow, Saturday, May 16th. 

In a press release, Publix announced that shopping will resume normal hours from 7 am to 9 pm and that Publix pharmacies will be returning to their normal hours as well. 

The company also thanked everyone for their support over the past few weeks and understand that some customers will still like to shop when the stores are less crowded and encourage them to shop in the first hour of the day.

Under Phase 1 South Florida restaurants can reopen under social distancing guidelines. Mizner Park within the City of Boca Raton will provisionally allow expansion of al fresco style outdoor seating to allow more patrons to dine in while still exercising social distancing. According to the latest numbers from the Florida Department of Health, there are 39,199 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, including 1,669 deaths.

According to Governor DeSantis the first phase which includes restaurants and retail stores to operate at 2 percent capacity and restaurants with outdoor dining must keep six feet of distance between tables. Wellington has partnered with Premier Family Health to provide FREE walk-up COVID-19 testing for all Western communities’ residents age 12 and over. It is an important step toward flattening the curve.

Health officials from Premier Family Health will administer and conduct tests at the Village Park Gymnasium, 11700 Pierson Road, Wellington, FL. At the end of April, Palm Beach County Commissioners and Governor DeSantis met to discus the reopening of Palm Beach County.  That day, April 29th, golf courses, marinas, boat ramps, community pools, tennis courts, parks and other recreational got permission to start opening with restrictions.  Beaches and beach parks still remain closed in Palm Beach County.

In a meeting held by Governor DeSantis yesterday, that he plans on opening up Florida to all professional sports teams that want to resume activity. 

DeSantis said” all professional sports are welcome here for practicing and for playing”. The conference was held yesterday afternoon in Tallahassee. DeSantis also mentioned that “if you have a team in a area that won’t let you practice, we’ll find a place for you here in Florida”.

Over the past few days and weeks, Palm Beach County has been taking steps to enter into Phase One of Reopening Florida. Like Palm Beach County, many nearby counties have reopened restaurants; parks, community pools, tennis courts, golf courses and some have reopened their beaches. 

As of know, Palm Beach County beaches remain closed but there is going to be a meeting this Friday, May 15th to discuss the possibility of reopening beaches in Palm Beach County as early as next week. 

During a meeting last Friday, May 8th, county commissioners made the decision in a 4-3 vote during the special board meeting. County commissioners will meet again this Friday, May 15th to finalize the final decision.

A portion of Town Center Boulevard in Jupiter will be closed and restaurants of Downtown Abacoa are joining together to host Open-Air Dining Weekend beginning this Friday, May 15th.  Town Center Boulevard will be closed for four consecutive weekends for the event. 

The restaurants are joining together to host the new event. Tables and chairs will be lining the street of Abacoa’s Town Center between Crescent Drive and Edna Hibel Drive.  The tables will be spread out to create a nice enjoyable outdoor dining experience while still keeping distance.  Tables will be set up six feet apart and no more than ten people can be placed at one table.

Palm Beach County has begun to enter Phase One of Reopening Florida and here is what you need to know about how to stay safe when on the water and how to safely use one of Jupiter’s boating ramps. 

Palm Beach County Officials allowed the use of some recreational facilities for residents on Wednesday, April 29th. The order allowed for certain places to open with rules and restrictions for social distancing and CDC guidelines. 

Boating Rules:

Recreational and commercial boating may resume following capacity restrictions based on the size of the boat.
